Veterinarians, behaviorists, scientists, and others who care for captive nonhuman primates have learned a great deal about factors that influence their psychological well-being and have identified behavioral management techniques to promote it. Major areas of research have concentrated on defining and evaluating welfare, and have identified strategies to enhance it. Here, we provide general resources related to regulations, guidelines, and interventions to ensure the welfare of captive nonhuman primates as well as species-specific information that can help guide the care and management of captive nonhuman primates.
